Telehealth Services – Now Bulk Billed by your Doctor

Telehealth is a safe and convenient way to connect with your doctor by phone!
To provide continued access to essential healthcare services during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Australian Government has expanded Medicare-subsidised telehealth services for all Australians. Eastbrooke Medical Centres are now taking Telehealth bookings to help you and your family get the healthcare you need.

How it Works

  1. Book your appointment – Call your local Eastbrooke Medical Centre or book online here
    Our reception staff can answer any questions you may have about your Telehealth consultation and can help you make a booking for you to see your doctor. Many Eastbrooke clinics allow you to book your Telehealth Consultation online – Book Telehealth Online
  1. Telehealth Consultation – We call you
    You benefit from a private consultation with your Doctor from the comfort and safety of your home. Your GP will call you at the agreed time for your face-to-face (video) or telephone consultation.
  2. Additional treatment, referrals, prescribed medicines
    At the conclusion of your consultation, your doctor can send you scripts, pathology forms, medical certificates, other specialist referrals and arrange any additional or follow-up treatment required.

FAQ’s

Do I need any software to use telehealth?
No, you don’t need any special software. If your doctor arranges a videoconference you will be provided with a single-use web link that runs in your web browser.

How do I prepare for my consultation?
Sit comfortably in a quiet area a few minutes before your scheduled appointment. If you are on a mobile, make sure you have good service coverage to make the most of your call.

Do I need to sign anything to get bulk billed?
No, for the new temporary MBS telehealth items only, the Doctor’s documentation in the clinical notes of the patient’s agreement to assign their benefit as full payment for the service is sufficient.


Bulk billing services are available to vulnerable or isolated patients where at least one of the following applies:

  • People isolating themselves at home on the advice of a medical practitioner
  • People isolating themselves in accordance with home isolation guidance issued by the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC);
    • If you think you have been in close contact with a person who has been confirmed with COVID-19
  • The person is considered more vulnerable to the COVID-19 virus being a person who is:
    • At least 70 years old
    • At least 50 years old and is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent
    • Pregnant
    • A parent of a child under 12 months
    • Is already under treatment for chronic health conditions or is immune-compromised

If you do not meet the above criteria you may still be eligible for telehealth services, however, fees will apply.
