Telehealth is a safe and convenient way to connect with your doctor by phone!
To provide continued access to essential healthcare services during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Australian Government has expanded Medicare-subsidised telehealth services for all Australians. Eastbrooke Medical Centres are now taking Telehealth bookings to help you and your family get the healthcare you need. Our reception team is available to talk to you about the cost of this service, any rebates and in some cases, eligibility for a bulk-billed consultation.

What will it cost me?
The cost of a consultation will vary depending on the reason for your appointment and whether or not you have been seen in our clinic in the past 12 months. Where private billing applies our reception staff or your Doctor will advise you of any out-of-pocket cost before your consultation takes place. Most consultations will be charged using a Medicare item number and in these cases, rebates will apply. If Eastbrooke is not your regular clinic then no Medicare rebate will apply for telehealth from 20 July 2020.
Do I need any software to use telehealth?
No, you don’t need any special software. If your clinics offers a videoconference option, you will either be provided with a single-use web link to access in your web browser or invited to enter the virtual waiting room via the clinic webpage.
How do I prepare for my consultation?
Sit comfortably in a quiet area a few minutes before your scheduled appointment. If you are on a mobile, make sure you have good service coverage to make the most of your call.
