Dr Kassey Klaassen
Dr Kassey is a country girl who grew up in rural Queensland before moving to Townsville to complete her medical degree. During her medical training, she had the opportunity to spend time overseas in Nepal working in Ophthalmology and General medicine. After graduating she moved to Brisbane to complete her residency at the Princess Alexandra Hospital gaining experience in General medicine, Orthopaedic surgery, Mental health, Neurosurgery, General Surgery and Emergency. From there she then went on to work in many hospitals namely Gold Coast University Hospital, Tweed Hospital, Mackay Base Hospital and Royal Darwin Hospital. Dr Kassey practices in all areas of medicine, with registrar experience in Orthopaedic Surgery, Emergency medicine, Paediatrics and Neonatology.
She also has a background in research and teaching, having presented and published multiple research papers nationally and internationally, lectured to medical students and junior doctors for Gold Coast University Hospital and Bond University and been a medical student clinical examiner for James Cook University.
