Dr Laura MacDonald is a Townsville local who has lived here since the age of 13. She graduated from Kirwan High School and then completed a Nursing degree at JCU. She worked in a general surgical practice for many years with a special interest in caring for patients with breast cancer and those pursuing bariatric surgery. Laura completed her medical training in 2016 at JCU with the intention of undertaking General Practice as a career. She is married with 2 young daughters and joins us with a keen interest in women’s health, obstetrics, sexual health including all contraceptive options and family planning. Laura also enjoys lifestyle medicine including prevention of chronic disease and weight management. Laura is taking new patients and would be happy to meet you to discuss any concerns that you have.
