Mayur completed his undergraduate degrees at the University of California, Irvine and a post-baccalaureate at California State University, Los Angeles, before returning to Australia to obtain his medical degree at Griffith University in 2014. While in California, he spent several years as a behavioural therapist specialising in children with developmental delays (primarily autism spectrum disorder).

Mayur has worked as a medical registrar with Gold Coast Health for several years undertaking rotations in various medical sub-specialties. Before transitioning to General Practice, he spent a year in Emergency Medicine.

Outside of general practice, he enjoys spending time with his young family, playing golf and is an avid car enthusiast.
