Dr Ron Finlay graduated from Glasgow University in 1977 and undertook Obstetrics & Gynaecology training until 1983, when he took up a GP position in Ware, Hertfordshire. During this period he undertook advanced Obstetric Ultrasound training at Kings College, London.
He emigrated to the Gold Coast in 1990. In the early 90s, much of his professional time was spent working in the Emergency Department at Allamanda Hospital, along with GP locum work on the Gold Coast.
In 1995 he was appointed Honorary Physician to the Australian National Boxing Federation, a post which he held until 2017. From 2003 until 2023 he was a single-handed GP at Robina Lakes Medical Centre.
His professional interests lie in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and, of course, sports medicine.
