Eastbrooke Belmont participate in World Health Organisation’s No Tobacco Day

Anne Linklater, the Belmont respiratory nurse.

The Eastbrooke Family Clinic Belmont has participated in promoting the World Health Organisation’s No Tobacco Day.

The team have setup an informative bay within the centre where patients can find information regarding the harmful effects of smoking, smoking cessation advice, as well as information about the activities of the tabacco industry which is criticised for promoting a harmful product within the community that kills millions of people every year.

World Health Organisation No Tobacco Day.

The aim of the initiative is for healthcare providers and professionals to make a coordinated resistance to the efforts of the tobacco industry. This involves explaining the damage such habits involve, as well as practical strategies to kick the nasty habit.

If you are planning to quit smoking, be sure to mention it to your GP who can provide medical advice to help you achieve your goal.
