Julia received a broad training as a specialist general internal physician, as well as specialty training in endocrinology in the UK. After completing her training Julia moved to Australia for 25 years. First in community endocrine practice and then as a staff physician at John Hunter hospital, one of the teaching hospitals for Newcastle Medical school. Julie headed General Internal Medicine for 7 years and then was the Area Director of Diabetes for the Hunter region of NSW before moving to Canada and working at the University of Toronto Canada. She returned to Australia in 2017 to spend more time with her family.
